Essential oils are a great hit nowadays. You may also use fresh flowers, a bunch of lavender or even fresh coffee all add to the sense of a house being a home.

Notice how homes in magazines are always well lit. This greatly affects the mood of the house and showcases it the best way possible. Like in selfies, lighting also makes a ton of difference both in photos and actual real life.
Replace faded lampshades and make sure you haven’t got any unsightly bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. Work out what sort of lighting you’ll need for each room too.
Get rid of personal stuff to make the home show better. Oftentimes, buyers have a hard time looking past clutter and seeing the actual house. A clutter-free home will appear larger, and you want to make your place look as big as you can.
Clear counter tops, put away small appliances, remove makeup and other personal items in the bathroom.
5. Clean Windows
No matter what else you do to try and increase the value of your home before you list it for sale, make sure to clean everything from top to bottom. Nothing turns people off more than dirt and grime. Tackle the floors, the walls, the ceilings, the air vents, and everything else you can find!
